Double master cylinder system
1.Treat this brake system as two complete
separate systems, the methodology is exactly the same
2.Remove the master cylinder fill screw on the outer
master cylinder which will feed the outer calliper on the brake unit
3. Position and screw in the brake bleeding tool in
the outer master cylinder, and fill the brake bleeding tool reservoir with the dot 4 brake
cylinder.
4. Remove the outer calliper upper most bleed screw,
sometimes they do have two bleed screw per calliper, remove the upper most or furthest
away, ensuring you retain the fibre washer or rubber seal.
5. Open the tap on the brake bleeding tool and allow
the fluid under gravity to push the old fluid and air through the system.
6. Once satisfied that all air and old
fluid has been removed, refit the bleed screw.
7. Close the tap on the bleed tool and
refit reservoir cap, to stop spillage, and remove the tool.
8. Refit the master cylinder fill
screw.
9. Carry out the exact same exercise for the inner
system of the brake system, following sections 1 to 7, in this chapter.
Note :- It is absolutely imperative that when carrying out the
brake bleeding exercise you check that all seals you have exposed are in a good
serviceable condition and when you carryout your operational checks you check there are
no seepages or leakages from all areas in the system. There are variants to the
bleeding exercises above and these are only a guide, if in doubt seek professional hands on advice
