Brake Disc – Always keep you brake clean using the recommended brake cleaner, this will give you optimum braking every time you need it, always check the nuts and bolts that hold your brake disc to the carrier, with the heat that is generated through braking it is recommended you change the nuts and bolts on a regular basis as the material becomes brittle and is prone to failure, this is also said for the actual disc carrier, check for cracking around the fixing bolt and for any severe discolouration of the material, this will indicate excessive heat has been generated thus changing the properties of the material, increasing the risk for failure.
