Installation of bearings and housings onto axle
1.With the bare axle on the bench lightly rub
down axle with very slight abrasive material
2. Clean up the axle with WD40 and wipe
clean with a clean rag.
3. Once spotless use a cocktail of chain lube and
WD40 and slide on each bearing with housing over the end of the axle and position roughly
ready for axle installation, ensuring that the brake disc is in position.
NOTE - IT WILL PAY DIVIDENDS IN LATER
INSTALLATIONS TO HAVE THE AXLE AS FREE
A POSSIBLE, WITHIN
REASON, IN IT'S BEARINGS, AND AT THIS STAGE A GOOD IDEA TO CHECK THE AXLE IS STRAIGHT BEFORE YOU HAVE GONE THROUGH THE
FITMENT PROCESS.
