Installation of the steering column
1. Ensure
the column has no bend or cracks in it, if so replace
2.Locate the upper safety collar and slide over
the column
3.Then slide over the upper retaining plastic
boss
4.Position the column into and through the
lower chassis fixing position
5.Ensure there is no play or wear in the
bearing, if so replace.
6.Position and tighten up the lower nut and tighten up so
there is no up and down play and at least two threads are protruding through the
nut.
7.Line up the up plastic fixing bracket bolt with the
upper chassis rails and push through the bolt ensuring you have the upper Nassau panel
brackets in position prior to tighten up.
8.Tighten up using appropriate spanners, and slide up
safety collar and tighten up the grub screws, the column is now fitted and ready for track
rod connection
